Why BIO?

Branding your business is hard because it feels so permanent. How do you put yourself out into the world—which is scary enough!—and somehow capture it all in a logo and a few words?

The truth is, my logo and the BIO philosophy came from something I’ve been passionate about for a long time: communication.

I have a master’s degree in Communication, so my background is in understanding how we communicate with others—and with ourselves.

And I kept noticing something: people often don't believe in themselves the way other people believe in them.

I'm talking to myself here, too.

One day, I found myself saying, “Believe that!”

Imagine someone showing you a painting and saying, “This is so intriguing. It drew me in immediately with the bright colors.”

And the painter responds, “Oh...thanks,” in that way that tells you they don't really believe you.

That's when I want to say:

“Believe that!" I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. I could have simply walked by. Instead, I stopped, looked, and told you what I genuinely saw.”

And yet, so often, we do exactly the opposite with ourselves. We hear encouragement, compliments, and reminders of our strengths—and let them go in one ear and out the other because we don't believe they're true about us.

I'm tired of that.

That's where BIO comes in:

Believe it. Internalize it. Own it.

It's not enough to hear something good about yourself. You have to believe it, let it become part of how you see yourself, and eventually own it.

And then there's the book.

The book in my logo represents your life. You have free will, which means you have a role in writing what comes next.

Your story isn't finished.

You're still writing your autoBIOgraphy.

And you don't have to figure out the next chapter on your own.

I'm excited about where you're going next. Let's write it together.
